about

This is an old song that goes back to one of my previous releases with a band called: "Tin Scribble." Duane (drummer) liked the song and thought it would be good to add to our repertoire when we began this project. It's an older lyric addressing the alienation, struggle and loss that one inevitably experiences at certain periods of time in one's life. --MAM

I liked several of the tunes Michael did with Tin Scribble, and felt this one was right in my wheelhouse. It was one of the first songs I introduced electronics on, and the 7 against 5 thing you hear at the beginning of the closing section was a fun discovery. I hope to develop this 7/5 relationship further in the future. --dh

lyrics

On inward bleak, all is polite,
Wayward mind, making its own way
Alive it sets forth, On open mind
The torn and sorry, I adore

By falling asleep you threw away your life
Avoiding the answers only you provide;

All is gone

And the world, will never let you in

I am the one you beat into nothing
A ghost that moved through you and loved you You are the one, I’ll never forgive
A scar that I’ll wear proudly and open

And the world, will never let you in
